Fit Kids

About six times a year our gym is taken over by professional athletic trainers. All day long they lead groups of students through a demanding circuit training session that involves balance, reaction, core and muscular strength, muscular endurance, agility, coordination, and speed.  Today was one of those days, our second of the year so far.  This special day is called a Fit Kids day and it's something we (and the rest of the school) look forward to. Here is a little video of some of the awesome training these professional trainers took us through for the first thirty minutes of our day today.

By the way, those professional trainers are incredible grade seven students at our school.  We can't thank them and their teachers enough.  It was another invigorating morning.

  1. Fit Kids looks like a lot of fun! Your class is full of very FIT kids, Ms. Lirenman! They must make you proud every day. :-)

The grade 7 students sure do a great job leading the younger students. What a great leadership opportunity for them.

  3. Trista's Mom we are quite a fit bunch of kids. Ms. Lirenman has managed to get us into the gym three times each week, plus we do a big run (we call it Run Across Canada) twice a week too. This week because of Fit Kids we got to go to the gym FOUR times this week. We also still did our big run this afternoon like we do every Thursday (and Friday) afternoon. Being fit is really important to us and Ms. Lirenman. We know it helps us learn better.

Mrs. Breg, we LOVE fit kids! Your crew of grade seven students do a fantastic job with us. Ms. Lirenman thinks that having it first thing in the morning really turned our brains on for the day. Thank you once again, and an especially big thanks to those awesome athletic trainers. :-)

  4. We love Fit Kids, too! We were all sweating by the time our time was up in the gym. We are extra lucky because some of those trainers are our Big Buddies.

  9. Dear Morrison and Division 21, Ms. Baldry and Division 16, Ryan, Charlotte, Tanisha, and Ben, we really like fit kids. It's not hip hop it is exercise for our boddies. We jump, and balance, and use our muscles.

Ben we have 17 children in our class and we all get along with each other. Thank you for writing us comments. We will have to check out all your blogs and leave you comments there too.
