Learning with Discovery Education

On Tuesday we took part in our first ever live event with Discovery Education Live.  We learned about a range of  amphibians from the Smithsonian's National Zoological Park.  While they were speaking to us (and over 1300 other classes at the same time) and showing us some special amphibians, we were listening careful and taking notes on our white boards.  It was a great way to keep us focussed on our learning.  Here are some photos of us hard at work.

They told us a lot of interesting facts, while showing us special amphibians for almost 25 minutes at which time they started answering questions that schools had sent in.  While this was going on the rest of the school was busy enjoying recess.  If you can believe it we watched, wrote, and learned right through recess!  It's true!

Here are what some of our boards looked like at the end of the session.

After the live broadcast Ms. Lirenman took us outside for our very own private recess.  When we returned we had a discussion about all the things we learned then we wrote posts for our blogs.  If you're curious you really should check them out.

Here are couple of our blog posts.

We really think you should check them all out though. Just follow the Individual Blog tab at the top of this page.

Learning on line just gets better and better every time we do it.
