Wilderness Wednesday:Visiting our Trees in the Snow

Today for Wilderness Wednesday we went outside to check on our trees in the snow.  While we were there we noticed that some have scratches on them.  We think the scratches might be from a squirrel but we aren't sure yet.  We did see a squirrel though running across some trees.  Here are some photos of us standing by our trees.

Playing in the Snow

Today we spent our recess working on our gingerbread houses, so we got private recess after regular recess.  Here's what we got up to during our private recess.

The Christmas Concert

Last night we had our Christmas concert.  Many of us could come and we dressed in our finest.  How cute are we.

Then we went on the stage with Ms. Heacock's class.  This is how we looked.

Here is how we sounded.

Making Gingerbread Houses

This morning the students in Division 16 were architects and designers. Check out what we created.

Mannequin Challenge

This morning we watched a few videos with mannequin challenges on them and we decided we wanted to try our own. Each time it was tough for all of us to remain still the entire time but we think this third version is our best one.  Have you ever tried the mannequin challenge?  A special thank you for Mrs. Cassidy's class in Moose Jaw as they were the first class we saw do it.

Hour of Code

On Monday we spent some time working through Apple's Swift Playground Hour of Code.  We began by watching this movie about pair programming created by code.org.

Then we got to work coding together.

If you're between the ages of 4 and 104 you can take part in the Hour of Code too! To find out more about the Hour of Code check out this resource https://hourofcode.com/ca. If you are looking for some of the many Hour of Code tutorials available for yourself, your parents, or your friends, check this out https://code.org/learn . There are so many ways to code, even some that don't even use  technology.
