"Childhood is not a race to see how quickly a child can read, write and count. It is a small window of time to learn and develop at the pace that is right for each individual child. Earlier is not better" Magda Gerber

Tending to Our Daffodils
Our daffodils have had a good life. Today we took care of them so they will be able to grow again next spring. It was great to be a part of the "Planting a Promise " program. Here is a few more photos of us working in the garden.

Lego Challenge
This weeks Lego challenge was to write a word or sentence using Lego. Here are some of our words.
Let's Go Litterless
On Wednesday we had a presentation about litter put on by the city of Surrey. Ms.K. shared many interesting facts with us. She made us think about how we can produce less litter.
Blogging Around the Room
We still love the fact that we can work in spaces that are best for us. In this poster we are all blogging except for one student who is reading with students in Mrs. Cassidy's class in Moose Jaw.

Sharing at the Weekly Brookside Assemblies!
Both at the assembly before Spring Break, and this first assembly after Spring Break we have been brave enough to share what we are learning with the rest of the school. Thankfully between Ms. L and Ms. B. we were able to capture some video footage so you can see us share too.
The first video is from when we shared our gymnastics with the school
This second video is from where we shared our stop motion animation with the rest of the school Unfortunately it's a bit hard to see our final products but they were shared on our individual blogs back in March.

Shapes and Solids
This week in math we began looking at geometry, and more specifically shapes and solids. However before we began our activity stations we worked in groups to show some of the learning we already know. Here are a few photos of us writing down what we know about shapes and solids.
Inspired by Caines's Arcade
Our last home learning assignment before Spring Break was to create an arcade game inspired by Caine's Arcade.
To no surprise we all created some pretty incredible games.
