Reading by Flashlight

We have been learning about light. Today we read in the dark by flashlight. If you noticed on some of the images you can see that light travels in straight lines. 

Learning about Guide Lines

Today one of our classmates taught us about guide lines. Guide lines are really helpful when you are drawing. They help you see where you should put things on the paper.  This lesson came at a perfect time as we are starting to illustrate our circle stories.

Young Guns Hockey

This week we have been fortunate to be a part of the Young Guns Hockey program. This program has been generously paid for by our parent group. Here are some photos of us in action. You will notice that many are blurry because we were moving all the time.

Ice Skating

Today we went skating with many of  the K-12 SAIL students.  It was great to se some of the big kids.  Unfortunately many from our class were away. But those of us that went had a lot of fun.

When we were finished skating we enjoyed a nice little treat of hot chocolate from the big SAIL students.  It was delicious!

Gingerbread Houses

Yesterday at school we made gingerbread houses.  Before we began he opened up a candy show with all the class candy donations.  As you can see we had a very well stoked candy shop.

Then Ms. Lirenman showed us how to make an A frame house with one triangle stacked on top of another triangle.  Some of us decided we wanted to make a different type of house so we drew out our plans.  Then we got to work.

We were happy to have some parent helpers.  We worked for quite a while and in the end we had some really great gingerbread houses.  Have you ever made gingerbread houses before?

Teaching Mrs. Cassidy's Class About Hanukkah

First thing this morning we taught Mrs. Cassidy's class a little bit about Hanukkah.  We even lit the menorah for them.

This afternoon we spent some time playing with Little Bits.  We look forward to having some more time with them.
