Meeting our Artist Trading Card Friends

This week we also had the opportunity to meet our grade four friends in South Carolina. Through out the year we have been making small artist trading cards for them, and they have made some for us. On Tuesday was finally got to meet them through the computer.  Did you know that we heard one person say, "Y'all".  We don't hear that too often in Canada.

Henri Rouseau

One final artist we learned about this week was Henri Rouseau.  Here we are trying to paint in his style.

While we have done a lot of art in the past couple of weeks we have also learned a ton.  Plus of course, since we are the teacher for our lessons, we are learning how important it is to listen while the teacher is talking so you know what is going on.

It's been a great couple of art weeks in Division 15.

Claude Monet

As we continue to learn about famous artists, another student took the time to teach us a little bit more about Claude Monet. We learned about the funny characters he used to do, and that he paints with small brush strokes.  Here we are trying to recreate one of his paintings.

Skyping with Mrs Cassidy's Class

This week we skyped with Mrs. Cassidy's class to learn about the pheasant eggs they were hatching. We had so many questions for them, but Mrs. Cassidy's class was so great at answering them for us.  As usual, it's great to learn from other children around the world.

Grant Wood

This week one of our classmates taught us about Grant Wood.  We learned quite a bit about him including that he liked to make landscapes. Here we are drawing landscapes.

A Sphero Challenge

This week we had a group coding challenge. We were required to build a maze for a Sphero then use the tickle app to block program the Sphero through the maze. We played with speed and angle numbers. Some of us were successful . We learned that it isn't easy to program but with perseverance, hard work, trial and error, we do become better programmers.
