In the meantime, here are some photos I took yesterday during my visit. They still are eating food that they have on themselves. If you look closely you might be able to see their little sacks. They have changed a lot since they first arrived in our classroom.

Salmon Update
Children, yesterday I was able to get into our classroom to check in on our Salmon. You'll be happy to know that they are all doing well. Right now under special circumstances, I am able to get into the school to check on their health and living conditions. As long as this remains a possibility for me I am going to keep our friends safe in their tank to allow them to grow as big as they can and prolong their release into the wild. Please know that our salmon get more love than most in the wild as we keep them in ideal living conditions. Most salmon don't get this opportunity. I will let you know when I'll be releasing them.

Biome Projects
Before the winter break, we were very busy researching and creating Biome projects. Here are some photos of us sharing our projects with our little buddies. We enjoyed being the "experts".

Picture Book of the Day
When school began Ms. Lirenman began to share a picture book with us each day. She called it "Picture Book of the Day". Now that it's the new year we have taken over that job. Here are some photos of us sharing our chosen books with our classmates.
Multiplication Games
In math, we have been working on our multiplication and division skills and strategies. One way that we learn is by playing math games. Here are a few photos of us playing one of those games.

Salmon Eggs Arrived!
Last week we had a visitor who brought us some special things. OUR SALMON EGGS! For the next few months we will be their adoptive parents. We will be checking on them daily. We will also be tracking the temperature of the water to see how they are doing with their development. Here are some photos from the day our salmon eggs arrived.

Burnaby Village Museum
Last Friday we headed to the Burnaby Village Museum to learn more about winter celebrations in both the past and present. Despite it being rainy from time to time we had a great time learning so many new things. Here are a few photos from our day.

Fruit and Vegetable Personal Interest Projects
For the past week or so, we have been working on our first Personal Interest Project (PIP) as we worked alongside Project Chef learning about food education. After watching this video called Austin's Butterfly, we worked hard to draw our drawings as close to the "real item" as we could. We made many drafts and requested and accepted feedback from our classmates. Our drawings only continued to get better each time. This week we presented our projects to our classmates and provide student feedback to one another. Here are a few of our finished projects.
Have you ever done a personal interest project?
