Jump Rope For Heart

This afternoon our entire school took part in Jump Rope for Heart. If you had come by our school you would have seen children jumping all over the school.  Here are some of the photos of us jumping.  If you notice we had all types of jumping happening both inside and outside.  Have you ever taken part in a Jump Rope for Heart?

Valentines Day Fun

Today before lunch we took the time to open our valentines and thank our friends for their kind wishes. This is what it looked like before we started.

This is what it looked like in the middle of our Valentines celebration.

This is what it looked like after.  Tons of smiles!

Happy Valentines Day!

The Calm Before the Storm

Today we celebrated Valentine's Day and took part in our school wide Jump Rope for Heart. As excited as we all were, and we were all very excited, this is what we looked like during our choice literacy time this morning.

How did we do?

Reader's Theatre Long Distance Style

Before lunch today we took part in a reader's theater activity with Ms. DeGroot's class in Iowa.  Both classes learned all the parts of the play then we divided our classes into the parts and performed the play twice.  It was such a great way to learn

Have you ever done Reader's Theater with a far away class?

Magnets!

We spent the afternoon exploring magnets inside and outside.  Here's our first padlet of what we knew and wondered.

Here is us exploring with our magnets.

Here's some of what we learned today.

Have you ever explored with magnets?

Scrap Art Music

This afternoon we had a performance in the gym.  The group was called Scrap Art Music. Can you guess why? Take a look at the photos below and see if you can figure it out.

In case you haven't yet, all of their instruments are made from scraps people were going to throw away.  Yes, even that old plastic bag in the photo above.

A couple of times during the show students from our school were invited on stage to participate. Three of us from Division 18 made it up on stage.  Unfortunately Ms. Lirenman only got a picture of one of us.

Such a fun way to spend an afternoon.
