We are very lucky in our class because right we now have a special volunteer two mornings a week. This volunteer will be helping us with our reading, writing, and math. She will be helping us with iPads too. To keep her privacy we won't tell you her name but what we can tell you is that when she was in grade one, Ms. Lirenman was her teacher too! Can you imagine. Ms Lirenman is really happy to have her back in her classroom and we are super happy to have her with us too.
"Childhood is not a race to see how quickly a child can read, write and count. It is a small window of time to learn and develop at the pace that is right for each individual child. Earlier is not better" Magda Gerber

Sounds like your volunteer had such a wonderful and memorable experience when she was in Grade 1 that she was eager to come back to your class Ms. Lireman! Volunteers play such an important role in our classrooms, without them many things would not be possible.
