Global Read Aloud - A Skype Call With Mrs. Wideen's Class

Today we started reading the book Charlotte's Web for the Global Read Aloud.  Ms. Lirenman introduced us to the Read Aloud through a Skype call to Mrs. Wideen's grade 1/2 class in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.  As you can see from the map below, it's a long way away from where we live.

What was really great was even though we were really far away from them, with our computer projector and screen they seemed a whole lot closer -  like right inside our classroom.

We made predictions about what we think the story will be about based on the title and the illustrations in the book.  Here are some pictures of us using skype.
