This past week we started to look at the number ten and some of the many ways that it can be represented. We did some work on with iPads and iPods using an app called Find Sums. This app uses a tens frame to represent numbers. To play you must match two numbers together to fill the tens frame - eg 2 and 8, or 3 and 7. Find Sums records your speed at matching numbers to make ten, and it records your accuracy too. Although this was just our second time using this app Ms. Lirenman was really impressed because several students were able to achieve 100% accuracy. She knew we were a smart class, we just don't think she realized how smart we are. Here are some of us that achieved that incredible feat.
While the entire class is not represented here, everyone one worked extremely hard and improvements were plentiful. As Ms. Lirenman always says, "it's all about doing your best, and your best is specific to just you". She is very proud of all of us for how hard we worked at this task.
Now, you may or may not know this but these ten children represent 7 different language spoken in our homes. Can you guess our different languages? It's not as easy as you think. And yes, one of our languages is English. :-)
